All week I have been coordinating my work schedule so I don’t have to come in on Saturday, and it is finally paying off. Today I left my hometown in Oregon ,and went an hour north to visit a friend. The plan was to enjoy her company for an hour or so, and then to continue to Seattle with another friend who attends the same college.
My visit was cut short when I got a call from my second friend, saying that he was out of class early and that we should leave right away. Somehow I knew that would happen. So I had to say a quick goodbye, and I headed to the dorm where I would meet my other friend to go to Seattle. He was waiting in the car for me and I threw my luggage in the back and we left.
The drive was relatively uneventful. We got lost only once on the way to Seattle, but then once again once we were in Seattle. Apparently streets in campus areas aren’t on maps.
We eventually found parking near where we wanted to be, which was another dorm of a friend in Seattle. We met up with a long lost friend and I was stunned with how much she had changed. It became apparent that I would want to be staying with my sister and not have much to do with her.
I got dropped off at my sister’s house and my friends all headed towards the airport, where they still are now. I was relieved to have some time away from them. My sister and I went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant and then returned some movies and came back to her house. Her roommate was home so we all talked for a while and now I am waiting for the others to get back from the airport with one more teen girl than they left with.
